Its Never Too Soon to Start Networking
Networking Event at Bryant College Attracts 100
Marketing Students and Professionals from over 30 Area Businesses
PROVIDENCE, RI (April 14, 2004) - Over 100 marketing students
from Rhode Island's Bryant College, Salve Regina University, Johnson
and Wales University, University of Rhode Island, and Rhode Island
College came out last night to network with career professionals
from more than 30 area business. The event was coordinated by Emma
Surprenant, president of the Bryant College Marketing Association,
and Brian Heil, past-president of the Rhode Island American Marketing
Association (www.riama.org).
The students, all dressed in stylish business attire, many armed
with calling cards, conducted themselves with the utmost professionalism.
They took an active role in meeting and greeting marketing and recruitment
professionals from companies large and small, including:

Key note speakers included Kristine McPherson, professional image
associate from In Toone Communication, and Amy Lawrence, local sportscaster
for WSKO The Score AM/FM.
With more than 100 local members, RIAMA is a professional marketing
organization that provides business networking and educational opportunities,
and serves all levels of marketing practitioners, educators and
students. Nationally, the American Marketing Association (AMA) is
the largest and most comprehensive professional society for marketers,
consisting of nearly 45,000 members in 100 countries and 400 chapters
throughout North America.
Founded in 1937 as a professional not-for-profit organization for
marketers, the purpose of the AMA is to promote education and assist
in the personal and professional career development among marketing
